БНУ „Азбукарче“ is the first Bulgarian school in Glasgow — founded in 2018, teaching pre-school through grade 12 to Ministry of Education programmes, every Saturday in Kinning Park and online across Scotland. This is the school's public website: Bulgarian first, with a full English mirror, online enrolment, teacher profiles, news and a photo gallery. It's the second thing we've built for the school — the first was the Electronic Diary, the school's internal system, which the site links straight into.
The challenge
A community school living in two languages needed a public home that puts Bulgarian first — the language the school exists to keep alive — while staying fully readable in English for partners and prospective families. And enrolment had to move from paperwork to an online form parents can complete in minutes.
What we built
A Bulgarian-first site with a true English mirror
Every page exists in both languages with its own clean URL — /obuchenie has an English twin at /en/curriculum — rather than a bolted-on translation widget.
Online enrolment
A structured enrolment form with the fee terms stated plainly beside it — £300 a year, payable once or in ten monthly instalments — and an honest notice when the intake deadline has passed.
The school's life, not just its facts
News with the school's real achievements, a photo gallery of Saturdays, profile pages for each of the six teachers, and a header link straight into the Electronic Diary we built earlier.
