Seven things you’re guaranteed in writing.
None of this is unusual, and that’s rather the point. Most of it is what any client should expect and plenty don’t get — so it’s written down here, in plain terms, rather than left to be discovered at the end of a project.

You own it outright
On final payment the website is yours — the design, the code written for your project, and your content. Not licensed to you, not held on our account. The underlying open-source frameworks stay under their own licences, as they do for any website.

Your domain is in your name
Registered to you, not to us. The registrant is the legal owner of a domain, so this is the difference between owning your address and renting it. You can move it elsewhere whenever you like, without asking.

No lock-in, ever
Hosting and the care plan are optional and always will be. You can take the site to another host, or another developer, and nothing will be withheld to make that difficult. There is no contract to exit.

The price is fixed before we start
You get a scope and a number, and the number doesn't move unless you ask for something outside the scope — in which case you'll be told before any work happens, not after. Half up front, half on the day the site goes live.

One person does the work
Every project is handled directly by George, from the first conversation through to launch. Nothing is passed to a third party, offshored, or handed to someone learning on your budget. If you're wondering who you'll actually be dealing with, it's the person who answers.

Ongoing costs are published
The first year of hosting is included. After that it's £65 a year for hosting, or £180 a year for the care plan with small tweaks included. Those figures are on the site so you can see them before enquiring, not after.

You'll get a straight answer
Including when it isn't the one that wins the work. If a cheaper approach would serve you better, or the thing you're asking for is a bad idea, you'll be told. That has cost us projects and it's still the right way round.
The one thing deliberately absent is a promise about results. Nobody can guarantee a search position or a number of enquiries, and an agency that offers to is telling you something useful about itself. What’s guaranteed here is everything actually within our control.
