QuoteMyMove is our own product: a two-sided marketplace for the whole journey of moving home. On one side, a person tells us about their move once and up to five approved local firms come back with quotes — across removals, storage, surveying, house clearance, mortgage broking and conveyancing. On the other, vetted firms buy exactly the leads they want, pay per lead from a top-up wallet, and build a reviewed reputation on the platform. Between the two sits the machinery: vetting, matching, notifications and follow-ups.
The challenge
Lead-generation marketplaces have a trust problem on both sides — customers fear their details being sold to twenty firms, and trades fear paying for junk leads. The design answer runs through the whole platform: enquiries are shared with five firms at most, every partner passes ID, insurance and Companies House checks before seeing a single lead, and partners buy leads individually — filtered by service, postcode and price — instead of being locked into subscriptions.
What we built
The customer side
A six-service quote wizard that starts from the homepage postcode box and walks through move, details and contact in about a minute — with an account where customers see their quotes and can add further services later.
The partner marketplace
Application and four-step vetting flow, then a dashboard where firms browse live leads filtered by service, postcode and price, pay from a pay-as-you-go wallet with no subscription, and track what converts.
Tools, guides and local pages
A removals cost calculator with an instant estimate, a stamp duty calculator, an interactive moving checklist, cost guides and per-city coverage pages — content that earns search traffic before anyone asks for a quote.

Visual walkthrough
One front door for the whole move — pick a service, enter a postcode, and the live ticker shows the marketplace working in real time.
The wizard keeps its promise of a minute's work — staged progress, plain questions, and an account at the end where the quotes arrive.
Free tools earn the visit before the enquiry — the cost calculator answers the first question honestly, then offers the quotes.
The other side of the marketplace — firms apply, pass vetting, and buy exactly the leads they want from a wallet, with no subscription.
Technical approach
- React single-page app served from the edge, with a Python API deployed separately — the stateless service can be replaced without losing anything.
- MongoDB Atlas for data and Cloudflare R2 for object storage, so nothing stateful lives on the app servers.
- Automated follow-up nudges, reminders and notifications keep both sides of an enquiry moving without manual chasing.
- Consent-gated analytics under UK GDPR — nothing loads until the visitor agrees.

Our own product, run in production: the same quote-first thinking we build for clients, scaled up to a two-sided marketplace with real money, real vetting and both sides of the transaction to keep honest.
